Job Title: PHP and WordPress Developer
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled PHP and WordPress Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and plugins. This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript) and an understanding of aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, the color and font choices, and so on).
Key Responsibilities:
Developing and Customizing WordPress Websites:
Build, maintain, and enhance websites using WordPress.
Create custom WordPress themes and plugins based on project requirements.
Modify existing themes and plugins to meet project specifications.
PHP Development:
Write clean, well-designed code in PHP.
Develop and maintain web applications and backend services.
Integrate user-facing elements developed by front-end developers.
Front-End Development:
Implement responsive design principles to ensure website functionality across different devices.
Work with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related frameworks.
Collaborate with designers to ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
Database Management:
Design and manage database schemas.
Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity.
API Integration:
Develop and integrate RESTful APIs.
Connect WordPress websites to third-party services and APIs.
Performance Optimization:
Optimize websites for speed and scalability.
Conduct performance tests and troubleshoot issues.
Security:
Implement security measures to safeguard websites and applications.
Stay updated with the latest security patches and best practices.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with project managers, designers, and other developers.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning and development.
Provide technical support and training to internal teams and clients.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
Continuously improve development processes and standards.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in PHP development.
Proven experience developing custom WordPress themes and plugins.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
Experience with front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap or Foundation.
Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
Understanding of RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML).
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with WooCommerce, Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), and other popular WordPress plugins.
Knowledge of web hosting environments and cloud services (e.g., AWS).
Familiarity with web accessibility standards and SEO best practices.
Experience with other CMS platforms or frameworks.
