Job Summary:
As a Junior Automation Software Engineer, you will be responsible for learning and applying automated testing techniques to ensure the quality and reliability of software applications. You will work under the guidance of senior team members and collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand software requirements, design test cases, and execute automated tests. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a fresher to gain hands-on experience in automation testing and contribute to the delivery of high-quality software products.
Responsibilities:
· Learn and understand software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
· Collaborate with the QA team and developers to understand software requirements and assist in designing test cases.
· Assist in the development and maintenance of automated test scripts using industry-standard automation tools and frameworks.
· Execute automated test suites under the guidance of senior team members.
· Analyse test results and assist in identifying and documenting software defects and performance issues.
· Support the development team in reproducing and debugging reported issues.
· Learn and contribute to code reviews by providing feedback on testability and quality aspects of the code.
· Work towards improving the automation test suite by suggesting new test cases and enhancements.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software releases meet quality standards.
· Stay updated with emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in automation testing.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
· Strong interest in software testing and quality assurance.
· Basic knowledge of programming concepts and willingness to learn programming languages used in automation testing, such as Java, Python, or C#.
· Familiarity with software testing concepts and methodologies is a plus.
· Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment.
· Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and tools.
· Basic understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is desirable.
· Familiarity with version control systems and defect tracking tools is a plus.
· Knowledge of Agile development methodologies is a bonus.
· Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or Rest Assured is a plus.
