Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Sophos firewall solutions to protect our network infrastructure from external threats.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and design firewall policies and rulesets to meet security and compliance needs.
Monitor and analyze firewall logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
Perform regular security assessments and audits of Sophos firewall configurations to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities and misconfigurations.
Implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions for Sophos firewall infrastructure to ensure continuous protection of our network assets.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve firewall-related issues and inquiries from internal teams.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in network security and Sophos firewall technologies, and recommend improvements and best practices to enhance our security posture.
Document firewall configurations, policies, and procedures to maintain accurate and up-to-date records and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
Participate in security incident response activities and collaborate with incident response teams to contain and mitigate security breaches.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Strong understanding of network security principles, including firewall technologies, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.
Hands-on experience with designing, deploying, and managing Sophos firewall solutions, including Sophos XG and SG series appliances.
Experience with configuring firewall policies, rulesets, NAT, VPNs, and advanced threat protection features in Sophos firewalls.
Proficiency in network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex network security issues and recommend effective solutions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Relevant certifications such as Sophos Certified Engineer (SCE) or Sophos Certified Architect (SCA) are a plus.
