Assistant Manager Accounting

  • Seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Manager to oversee Travel & Expense management within our organization. The Assistant Manager will play critical role in ensuring efficient and compliant Travel processes and supporting the needs of our employees across EMEA, APAC and India regions.

Scope:

  • This position will be responsible for the day-to-day functions associated to the Travel & Expense (T&E) area. Performs audits and reviews all expense reports submitted by employees for reimbursement.
  • The Assistant Manager will play critical role in ensuring efficient and compliant Travel processes and supporting the needs of our employees across EMEA, APAC and India regions. Will need to have leadership qualities to also mentor junior and mid-level associates in our team

What you’ll do:

  • Good understanding on end to end T&E process.
  • Review expense reports of employees, comparing details and supporting Travel and Expense Reimbursement policy and making an independent judgment based on the first review of the expense report which may lead to approval/denial of submitted expenses.
  • Approve advances request raised by employees, Track the same and clearing advance once employee return from the travel.
  • Assist employee on T&E related queries and Monitoring and resolving queries through the mailbox/ticketing system.
  • Work together with the accounting manager to determine, amend and improve the travel and expense and corporate card process.
  • Ensure transactions are accurate and in line with our travel and expense global policy
  • Review T&E and Corporate Card transactions for all our entities.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable to ensure that travel related expense reimbursement processes are aligned with the Travel Policy.
  • Create and maintain travel and expense reports and Reconcile related balance sheet accounts related to T&E.
  • End to end audit support for T&E function – Statutory/ IFC/ Internal and strict adherence to audit plan.
  • Accurately process supplier and customer setups and maintenance per department policies and procedures
  • Initiate settlement runs for employees.
  • Analysing the movement in Travel related GLs and provide reasons for variances.
  • Engage in company-wide projects to improve the P2P (Procure to pay cycle)
  • Maintain accurate records for monthly reconciliations and intercompany billings where required.
  • Support during month end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Coordinate with admin team and travel partner for forex advance related queries and unloading remaining balance to employee’s accounts and ensure balance due to company in recovered.
  • Monitors past due expense reports and works closely with employees to timely process reports.
  • Contribute ideas and take initiatives in improvising the process and anticipate risks and prepare mitigation plan.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s/Master degree in commerce and minimum 5-7 years of Travel & Expense, Accounts Payable.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written), be a self-starter, detail oriented and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office, specifically Excel and Outlook.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent time management, organization and interpersonal skills
  • Diligent focus to work with a strong ‘can do’ attitude.
