Objectives of this role
Reliably manage and monitor the customer’s Neo4j database environment, taking a holistic view of the health of the environment, to maximize the application and infrastructure uptime. Some of the tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Build software tools & kits to manage infrastructure and applications.
- Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-value of our Cloud Managed Service
- Measure and optimize system performance, using cloud infrastructure best practices.
Responsibilities Overview
As a Cloud Operations Engineer (SRE) in our Global Cloud Managed Services team supporting our clients worldwide, you would:
- Respond to incidents that impact Neo4j cloud infrastructure availability, and provide the necessary support for incidents.
- Provide On-Call support one week per month (including weekend) per month for enterprise system & database administration related tasks. Build and maintain cloud infrastructure resources, including but not limited to, Neo4j databases, Linux virtual machines, cloud storage, networking & security groups.
- Support the Cloud Managed Services Team during India business hours to support the Neo4j database infrastructure of the clients.
- Gather and analyze metrics from operating systems as well as database to assist in performance tuning and incident diagnostics.
- Document the technical service for incidents, procedures, and outcomes of customer communicationsto improve the service procedures
- Install and upgrade Cloud Managed Service kits at Neo4j customers.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science. Background in math will be a plus
5-7 years of experience in cloud infrastructure administration is required
Experience in building and administering public cloud infrastructure at large enterprises – is required
Strong understanding of relational and / or graph database concepts is required
Experience working with public cloud technologies specifically AWS, Azure or GCP is required.
Experience working with Linux operating systems is required.
Familiarity with Linux diagnostics and tuning is required
Must have command-level fluency and shell scripting experience in Linux environments
Proactive approach to identifying problems, performance bottlenecks, and areas for improvement is necessary to succeed in this position.
