Experience: 6+ years Position Overview: As a Senior Data Protection Backup Specialist at Level 3, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing backup operations using industry-leading platforms such as Commvault, EMC Networker, and IBM Spectrum Protect. Your role involves ensuring the integrity, availability, and recoverability of critical data assets across the organization. Key Responsibilities: Implementation and Configuration: Lead the implementation and configuration of backup solutions, including Commvault, EMC Networker, and IBM Spectrum Protect, ensuring alignment with organizational requirements and best practices. Collaborate with stakeholders to define backup policies, schedules, retention periods, and disaster recovery strategies. Backup Operations Management: Oversee daily backup operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues to ensure successful backups and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs). Conduct regular audits and reviews of backup infrastructure to identify and address performance bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and security vulnerabilities. Disaster Recovery Planning and Testing: Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans and procedures for critical systems and data assets. Coordinate and participate in regular disaster recovery tests and exercises to validate the effectiveness of backup and recovery processes. Technical Support and Escalation: Provide advanced technical support and guidance to junior team members and IT personnel on backup-related issues, configurations, and best practices. Serve as a point of escalation for complex backup failures and incidents, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues promptly. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of backup configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. Minimum of 6 years of experience in managing enterprise backup solutions, with expertise in Commvault, EMC Networker, and IBM Spectrum Protect. Strong understanding of backup and recovery concepts, methodologies, and technologies. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation and task orchestration. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Certifications such as Commvault Certified Professional (CCP), EMC Proven Professional, and IBM Spectrum Protect Administration would be advantageous.
