As we continue to grow, we are now looking for a Release Manager to join our QA team in one of our office hubs in Bangalore.
As the Release Manager you will be responsible to guarantee the seamless and effective deployment of mobile games and their updates on various platforms. Working in close partnership with interdisciplinary teams, such as development, quality assurance, product management, and marketing, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing the strategy for release management. You will report to our VP of Bangalore studio and work directly with the leaders in our QA team as well as our internal marketing, UA, and creative teams. \n
Responsibilities:
- Release Process Ownership: Define, build, and continuously improve the end-to-end release process.
- Release Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop release plans, including timelines, dependencies, and resource allocation.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues related to the release process.
- Environment Management: Oversee the management of development and production environments, ensuring their stability, availability, and alignment.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvement initiatives to optimise release efficiency, quality, and reliability, leveraging industry best practices, tools, and knowledge.
- Release Documentation: Maintain accurate release documentation, including release notes, deployment procedures, and known issues, ensuring transparency and traceability.
- Submissions Coordination: Coordinate and review numerous submissions per month, aiming to improve the pass-fail ratio.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Demonstrate problem-solving skills, particularly with time-sensitive and ambiguous issues.
Requirements:
- Direct experience as a Release Manager or similar at a mobile game/application developer.
- Thorough Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Release Management Best Practices: A deep comprehension of the entire process of software development and established practices in release management.
- Proficiency in Release Management Tools and Version Control Systems: Skilled in utilising tools for managing releases and systems for controlling versions of software.
- Excellent Project Management Skills: Capable of prioritising tasks, managing deadlines, and handling multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities: A keen eye for detail coupled with robust skills in analysis and solving complex problems.
- Exceptional Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding abilities in both written and verbal communication, and skilled in interpersonal interactions.
