Function Description:
GCS Operational Excellence aims to ensure that GCS has a robust first line of defense, playing an active role in supporting the GCS business meet its business objectives and demonstrating an effective control framework. This position will be responsible for actively supporting the GCS business in ensuring the business is executing effectively against local and central control and compliance expectations.

Purpose of the Role:

The position of Sr. Lead Analyst will be responsible for supporting the GCS business in Enterprise Resilience processes including Business Continuity Planning, Exercises and Business Impact Analysis.

Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the incumbent will include:

· Partner with various teams across markets by maintaining a strong focus on Plan Management, testing & implement a consistent Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and exercise for the business.

· Understand Enterprise Resilience requirements related to BCPs, DR and educate, facilitate the business in meeting those requirements.

· Manage sole provider risk by supporting BU develop risk mitigation strategies, response template and risk acceptances.

· Improve the quality and coverage of Business Impact Analysis landscape to minimize risk in its crisis preparedness program and manage the control ratings metrics

· Work closely with Enterprise Resilience and technology team to support them with any reporting requirements, remediation projects etc.

· Ability to foresee the potential risk associated to any upcoming changes in the guidelines

· Business Continuity Planning – Ensuring compliance with the Service Continuity control rating parameters by engaging with the business to drive activities through the business continuity lifecycle such as Business Impact Analysis, BC Planning, BCP exercises etc. It would also include collaborating with the Disaster recovery teams to ensure that adequate disaster recovery planning is in place for GCS applications.

Critical Factors to Success:

· Operational Risk Skillset: Successfully be able to analyze the potential risk associated to business function, work on creation of Recovery strategies to mitigate the risk

· Deep Risk Acumen: Ability to connect the dots between the various Operational Excellence programs.

· Consistency in Delivery: Able to thrive in a matrix organization that involves multiple sub-teams as well be able deliver on reporting requirements to senior leaders in time.

Past Experience:
2 to 3 years experience in Business Continuity Management, Operational Excellence, Compliance, Internal Audit, Operational Risk or a related discipline would be given preference.

Academic Background:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

Functional Skills/Capabilities:

· Strong controls and compliance background to be able to understand the requirements of policies and Control framework of American Express

· Familiar with Archer and Business Continuity Planning

· Demonstrated ability to build and sustain effective working relationships across the Company with leaders in various position

· Strong team player

· Self-motivated, with the ability to handle multiple work streams and ad-hoc tasks simultaneously

· Experience compiling information and developing thoughtful material for presentation

· Strong Microsoft Excel, Presentation skills, particularly in creating custom reporting and data presentation.

· Flexibility in response to changing circumstances

· Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion

· Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail

· Excellent oral and written communication skills are required

· Ability to ask the “right” questions without having extensive knowledge in a particular business area

Technical Skills/Capabilities:

· Technical background not mandatory

Knowledge of Platforms:

· Archer

· Microsoft Office
